Following the release of Rock Band , Harmonix and EA began to form partnerships with different companies and bands to provide promotional content. Thus far, these promotions have taken the form of new songs released prior to being sold online, or songs offered at a discounted price.

The February 2008 issue of Official Xbox Magazine included a free disc with three songs for the Xbox 360 version of Rock Band . These songs were made available for purchase online on April 8, 2008.

Disturbed Indestructible preorder

Starting May 4, 2008, customers who preordered Disturbed's new album Indestructible through Best Buy's online store received a promotional code that could be redeemed through the Xbox Live Marketplace to download two free Disturbed songs for use in Rock Band starting June 3rd, 2008. These songs were made available for purchase online on June 3, 2008.

McDonald's $0.99 songs

It is very thorough and well put together and will teach you everything you need to know. I know, I know, your gamerscore is meaningless, but there is nothing quite as satisfying as playing a game and hearing the little sound effect and the “Achievement Unlocked” window pops up. Not recommended if you don’t intend to play a lot. Easy. Your effort will certainly be rewarded at auction. King Kong: You get all 1000 just by playing through the game. The reason why is because you only get 100 credits if you try to sell it normally.: Weighted heavily towards multiplayer. Dead or Alive 4: Fun game, but you’ll likely get frustrated long before you get even half. Call of Duty 2: The majority of achievements are earned on higher difficulty levels. The Outfit: A good mix of both single and multiplayer achievements. Blazing Angels: Earned by playing through the game, but it isn’t all that fun. You of course will want to add more power if you can afford it, but races are won and lost in the corners, and even if your opponents are faster on a straightaway, I promise you’ll be much faster through the corners and produce better lap times overall. You can get an easy 75-100 points in pretty much every game, but I would not recommend Smash TV or Bejeweled 2 as they feature some extremely tough achievements. Two Worlds: Another stinker. Buying suspension, brakes, transmission, and weight reduction upgrades will benefit you far more than just slapping on an extra 300 horsepower. There is so much to do and so many ways to do it, and the game is so incredibly well paced, that Pirates! is one of the most addictive games to come out in quite a while and is highly recommended.
