The Xbox 360 video game console is subject to a number of technical problems that can render it unusable. These problems are identified as "general hardware failures," and are indicated by three flashing red lights around the power button. Since its release in 2005, many articles have appeared in the media portraying the Xbox 360's relatively high failure rates. The three "flashing red lights" have been nicknamed in these articles, as well as by the general public, as the "Red Ring of Death/Doom" ( "RROD" ) or as the "Red Light of Doom" ( "RLOD" ).
Several video game blogs, newspapers, and magazines (Such as Wired, Kotaku, Joystiq, The Inquirer, GamePro, G4, and several others) reported on an interview by a Seattle PI Reader Blog "Digital Joystick" with a confidential source inside Microsoft by the name "xboxfounder". It reported that this source was a team leader and key architect in the creation of the Xbox and Xbox 360 and a founding member of the Xbox team and has since left the company but maintained close ties to the remaining Xbox team.
The interviews suggest that Xbox 360 units that fail early in their life do so because of problems in the system design, parts supply, material reliability, and manufacturing issues as well as a system not tolerant to faults. These issues were alleged to be the end results of the decisions of management in Microsoft's Xbox team and inadequate testing resources prior to the console's release. Other websites claim the insider's authenticity has been confirmed.
In the early months after the console's launch, Microsoft stated that the Xbox 360's failure rate was within the consumer electronics industry average of 3% to 5%. Nevertheless, Microsoft has not released their official statistics on the failure rate of the various versions of the console; the company's press relations policy is to focus on the prompt resolution of any technical problems. In February 2008 an examination of 1040 Xbox 360s by SquareTrade found a 16.4% failure rate; 171 were returned under warranty as "disabled", 60% of which with general hardware failure. , with other sites even claiming 30% failure rates, and 10% on even the more recent models.
On July 5, 2007, the Vice-President of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business division published an open letter recognizing the console's problems, as well as announcing a three-year warranty extension for every Xbox 360 console that experiences the "general hardware failure" indicated by three flashing red LEDs on the console.. During GDC 08, Microsoft announced that the "Failure rate has officially dropped".

For more detailed tuning tips, there is a great tuning guide at the Turn 10 Studios Developer Blog that should help you out. Juiced 2: Online focus kills the easy achievement buzz. It is the sequel to a somewhat popular Dreamcast game, but it takes everything Jet Grind Radio did on the Dreamcast and multiplies it by ten on the fun scale. The problem comes from a lot of different factors such as weight distribution, brake balance, body roll, etc. For fans of the first game and newcomers to Ninja Gaiden alike, Ninja Gaiden Black is an amazing game that deserves a spot in any Xbox owner’s collection. FIFA 08: For hardcore soccer fans only. Dead or Alive Xtreme 2: Very, very, very time consuming.2. Very underrated game that is highly recommended. Tip #5: Buy The Right UpgradesA lot of people just want to slap on every horsepower upgrade they can afford right off the bat when they get a new car, but this is a horribly bad idea and a large part of why they struggle with the handling of their cars. Easy if you are THPS fan. F. Forza MotorsportForza Motorsport stands as one of the best racing games on Xbox, if not the best, and definitely deserves a spot on this list. The Outfit: A good mix of both single and multiplayer achievements. Earth Defense Force 2017: Fun game, but can be difficult. NASCAR 08: Bad game. Tomb Raider Legend: Just play through the game to earn most of the points. X-Men 3: Play through the game to earn them all. Chromehounds: It takes a long time to earn them all, but if you are dedicated to multiplayer and have a good team to play with it is a very enjoyable experience. There are a couple tough ones, but the game is so fun you won’t mind. If you want to get all of the achievements you need to keep those cars anyway. Buying suspension, brakes, transmission, and weight reduction upgrades will benefit you far more than just slapping on an extra 300 horsepower. Enchanted Arms: You get all of them for playing through the game. The reason why is because you only get 100 credits if you try to sell it normally. Kameo: Elements of Power: You get most of them by simply playing through the game. Test Drive Unlimited: You earn most of them just playing the game normally.Top 10 Xbox Games1. Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland: You get most of them for playing through the story and classic modes. FIFA Road to the World Cup 2006: Moderately easy achievements, but not worth going through the pain of playing this game. Sonic the Hedgehog: Bad game. Couple this great gameplay with the Star Wars universe and you have an exceptional game. It is very thorough and well put together and will teach you everything you need to know. It floods the auction house with cruddy cars that everyone else already has. KOTOR is great and a must have in any Xbox collection. Perfect Dark Zero: Heavily weighted towards multiplayer. Nicer graphics, faster load times, and custom soundtracks all make the Xbox version the one to buy.NBA 2K6: Insanely easy to earn all 1000. You can get an easy 75-100 points in pretty much every game, but I would not recommend Smash TV or Bejeweled 2 as they feature some extremely tough achievements. Ninety Nine Nights: Most achievements are earned by simply playing through the game. One of my favorite things in
